Podfic Bingo
A brief look back on taking part in my first Podfic Bingo with some thoughts on what to do next year. Quote-Unquote year, really. Sign-ups should open up this spring.
Over the summer [2021], I fell into the trap of “I’ll get to that later” -itis. Next year, I should make a note of word count and time estimates while collecting possible fic for squares, so I can quickly have a list of relatively easy podfic to get out of the way.
I vastly overestimated what I could do around seasonal changes, and honestly, it’s a bit embarrassing after this many years of being hit in the mood changes with seasonal two-by-fours. (If future me is re-reading: Maybe, pre-plan a bit so I can go a little easier on autumnal and wintry expectations.)
Perhaps, doing a certain number of squares per month - especially in the beginning - would prevent a complete scramble after a little bit of bad luck and/or timing, such as having internet issues followed by whatever that caused a sore throat for a few weeks.
I used one monthly challenge in order to earn a cheat, and in hindsight, I should have planned to use more monthly challenges. Next time I should make more of an effort to do that. Like, actually pay attention to the theme challenges, or something.
A little clerical reminder that when I finally got around to creating a collection for my entries that I used the start year (this year’s subcollection used “_2021”).
