Unfortunately, this year is shaping up to be one of those "scraping my brain off the underside of a desk" types of autumn-to-winter changes. I managed to put on my Writer Hat and post a bit in that way, which isn't half bad, but I was not expecting to feel so 'eh' towards podfic. I'm hoping that finishing my already committed to [Redacted] Exchange podfics will break through this stage, and I'll just have to slog through to the other side of changing our clocks to feel a little better. A little more motivated, at least.
I can't really talk about the [Redacted] Exchange until some point before 2023 starts, but I must admit that I'm ambivalent about trying to interact with certain topics on Discord. I like the ability to blacklist, and if I want to interact with a certain topic or ship, I like having the ability to choose that instead of just randomly encountering it. For me, it's an important part of all that 'ship and let ship' and 'your kink is not my kink and that's okay' that keeps getting repeated, but Discord itself wasn't really set up for that. It'd be so much easier if certain topics or ships were in dedicated channels that I could mute, at least, but I don't see that happening. (There's been a bout of harassment over "problematic" content, and a whole bunch of writers want to post Dead Dove content in December to push back against the harassers' attitudes of acceptable fic. It seems like if I were to ask for any sort of workaround to Discord not having a blacklisting option right now, I'd be lumped in with the harassers.)
