For clarification purposes, I’m using ‘audio social media’ to refer to the up and coming social media apps like Clubhouse and Telepath where the audio being shared is not in a video format that has a visual and auditory element like YouTube, TikTok, and so on. I am not giving a review of a particular app or making any recommendations to try one particular app, but I have a few thoughts about the general idea and how certain questions relate to podfic, specifically what would affect podfic that might be posted on such a site and how that audio content compares to podfic.
