Hm. There's enough of a compelling premise that even with zero background on the fandom or the characters, it's a nice read. It's relatively short enough that it could work for something like a bingo fill alright.
From a strictly thinking of my podficcing process stance, I could see myself reading this and then dealing with at least one re-read in the editing process. It's a one shot, which isn't a requirement, but it makes an unfamiliar fandom and ship easier to podfic, for me. By my slowest and fastest estimated words per minute, I'd say 4,305 words falls somewhere between 28 and 35 minutes. (Not super important here, but it's the sort of thing that can factor into splitting up a work into multiple recording sessions and drag out the editing time.)
Most of the names would probably be alright on a first read (Eddie, Andy, Gunny). I'd probably just go with 'hey-knee' for Haney and 'ber-gin' (like begin, not the gin drink) for Burgin. Burgie would probably roll off as 'ber-ghee'. The biggest focus would be the locations, especially since one appears in the title.
In looking up Pavuvu, I'd probably copy the video (around 01:48) with something like 'puh-voo-voo'. (It comes up twice in the fic.) Banika would probably be my troublesome one. On my own, I would probably look it up and attempt 'ban-ickuh' (reading a sample sentence from the fic sounds more like 'ban-eh-kuh' to my ears). Honestly, I would probably just pick one and be consistent instead of worrying each time the word came up (granted, eight times).
And that's the probably boring sort of prep that would go into considering this fic. Overall, it's a medium to strong maybe, but my confidence about actually recording and editing eight Banikas is a wild card. I am slowly starting to recognise this ship in The Pacific fic I'm looking at, though, so it was an interesting rec.
