Apart from an occasional pinch hit, I'm not participating in exchanges any longer--I don't really have a fandom at this point, so I'm pretty tough to match lol--but gosh, I love listening to podfic. I've always felt incredibly honored whenever anyone has made one of my work.
Podfic is very time-consuming to create, and is a true art form of its own. Is a performance of a play not a worthy contribution? How about a musical performance?
I am sorry that you've been made to feel lesser or unwelcome, in any fandom space. It's not right.
